I'm sorry, I just read that this isn't your space but it looks like we both have similar tastes!

LOVE this reading area. You really seem to have an eye for design and creating beautiful spaces. I see Cookie's Week in your basket. That is one of my favorites and was used when teaching early literacy with puppets in my current group.

I love the photo of the little girl that is placed on top of the structure! Is that her way of saving her work and "marking" it as hers?

I built one last year for around $25. I bought some 2x4s and a sheet of MDF at Home Depot. The MDF was the size I wanted the platform so I didn't have to cut it. It worked great until our licensing rep came in and didn't like it. She said if the chi…

I like to store the pretty things like jewel in see through containers. Peanut Butter jars that have been cleaned work great. We have a great place for resources in our area where people take their "trash" and the people who work there sort it and w…

These are pictures from a workshop I attended. I SO want these in my classroom! They look easy enough to make but I wonder where the kids who sit on top put thier feet. It doesn't look like enough room to have children sitting on both benches. Hmmmm…

Profile Information

What inspires you about the Reggio Emilia Approach?
I love the way it empowers children to think for themselves. I like the collaboration that is done between all the parties involved in a classroom and that teachers see themselves not as instructors but as researchers.
About Me:
I am a preschool teacher working for an agency that provides incusive classrooms to children with special needs (10 typical children/8 special needs children per classroom with 3 teachers plus therapists) I have always been drawn to the Reggio Approach and am always looking for ways to incorporate it into our programs.

Hi Gina!
I love the picture of the shelving. I'd love to see what you put underneath it. It looks like mirrors?

Hi Gina,

Where are you teaching? I find I like to have a general location for the people in the conversations. I'll bet if I move the colored tape closer to the communications center the kids will use it more for decoration. At the moment, it is mainly used for coding things. They use regular masking tape sometimes for making designs before painting,
