Something important we learned with the butterfly PSA project is that it's best to record the children's voices AS they're creating their art. Their stories are very liquid and change and flow rapidly. Best to capture audio of the moments of creation at the time, live.
The children had long versions of the butterfly stories. Sophisticated tales that involved the protagonist butterfly meeting an antagonistic groundhog, being afraid and dramatically escaping. One storyteller designed a beautiful flower bed of petals for the butterflies to sleep on.
Their teacher Sandy helped them create a book of their storie(s). How wonderful for them to get published at age 5!

This is so sweet! I think the children's own work and words was a beautiful compliment to the exhibit and a wonderful way to draw attention to the competencies of children.
